According to the Bible, God created both man and woman. Therefore, sexuality is also spiritual as it involves creation. It encompasses everything in our lives and is part of whole lives. We cannot separate sexuality from our lives. At the same time, based on our codes of moral and ethics, the way we indulge in sex or sexual activities is based on our spiritual, religious and ethical beliefs. It is not just about being physical and getting it over with.
Many ancient philosophies in the world interlink sexual energy with spiritual energy. For a person to feel whole, there has to be a right balance between sexual energy and spiritual energy. One energy feeds the other. However, in most ancient philosophies, people used to channel sexual energy as a way of attaining spirituality. They believed that the act of having sex was actually a spiritual union. It was a gift from God, and therefore, sacred. The act of having sex was seen as an act of worship where both partners transcended on a higher plane and higher level of consciousness.
So, for a person to feel whole, he needs to ensure that he uses his sexuality in such a way that it brings about a positive effect and change in his entire life -- right from physical and mental health to spiritual health. This changes the way a person perceives the world, the people around him and himself.
