What Percentage Of Women Are Bisexual ?
There is a myth or misconception among people that a person is attracted either to a man or a woman. However, research has shown that a person can attracted to men as well as women. These people are known as bisexuals. Although there is no concrete statistics on how many people are bisexuals, studies have indicated that the percentage of bisexual men and women could be as nearly as much as the percentage of homosexual people. |
A study was conducted based on the data from the National Survey of Family Growth collected in 2002. When asked whether they consider themselves to be heterosexual, homosexual or bisexual, 1.3 percent of female respondents between the ages of 18 and 44 said that they considered themselves to be homosexual; and 2.8 percent said that they were bisexual. Further, 3.9 percent of women said that they were attracted mostly to women; 1 percent said that they were attracted to both genders and 0.7 percent claimed to be attracted to mostly men.
The same study revealed that 12.9 percent of the women aged between 18 and 44 acknowledged that they were attracted to both genders; 10.2 percent said that they were attracted mostly to men; 1.9 percent of undetermined age group said that they were attracted to both genders; and 0.8 percent claimed to be attracted mostly to women.
This study clearly shows that a large percentage of women are bisexuals who are attracted to both men and women. Here it must be clarified that bisexuals can be sexually, emotionally or mentally attracted to both men and women. So, a bisexual person is not always looking for sex or sex-related activities when they claim that they can form relationships with either gender.
