How Many Women Have Bisexual Tendencies ?
There are many women who are bisexual and know about it. But when women have bisexual tendencies, it is something that women do not want to acknowledge because of societal norms. However, women have to realize that just because they have bisexual tendencies, it does not make them bisexuals. |
So, how many women have bisexual tendencies? This is a difficult question to answer as researches show that all women have bisexual tendencies. But many question the result of these researches. Alfred Kinsey, a renowned sex researcher, created furor in the 1940s with his research on sexuality. He created a scale and found that most people were not completely homosexual or heterosexual. This meant that majority of the people in this world are bisexual.
According to a survey conducted by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 6.9 million women in the US acknowledged that they had same sex sexual experience. Another survey conducted by the magazine named Marie Claire got 55 percent of the respondents to acknowledge that they would not mind have a same sex sexual experience provided no one found out about it.
Therefore, these surveys have opened a Pandora's box where people have started questioning about women and their bisexual tendencies. Most women would shun this thought because society thrusts on them that they have to be clear about their sexuality and sexual orientation. So, women have to choose between being straight or gay. They cannot take the middle route of being bi.
Nonetheless, ancient philosophies have always accepted bisexuality. Traditional Chinese medicine advocates bisexuality to help balance the yin and yang in the body. Tantra has a belief that all humans are innately bisexual. Also, the famous Sigmund Freud postulated that every person on this planet is bisexual to a certain extent. Therefore, women should not feel that there is something wrong with them if they have bisexual tendencies. Many women have these tendencies, but they do not follow through.
